Currently with wow the only way to downgrade is re install i belive. Correct me if wrong. Then to patch up you must use manual patches and there are a few forum posts on how to do so.

if you have a version, thats greater than 4.0.1, only way is to reinstall!
If you have a lower version, follow these steps:
1.go in your WOW directory and locate the folder Data
2.from folder Data delete the patch.MPQ file (only that one)
3.run Wow repair, and let him finish (it will says that has found a critical erorr, and needs to restore your game to 3.0.0 version)
4.search for a direct patch from 3.0.0 to 3.3.5a

you cant downgrade 4.0.0 to 3.3.5a its impossible
everyone who is talking about an 4.0.0 downgrade to 3.3.5a is talking trash, because Blizzard changed the 4.0.0 client that you can never downgrade it

Actually Remi, it's not impossible as I've seen my friend do it. >_> So for you and others wanting to downgrade, it is possible! Don't give up and keep looking for the solution.
P.S: Would tell you how and where if he showed me that part sorry.
